Some comments are unnecessary harsh. I agree that title could be more clear, but as the only dev working on a prototype in a brand new tech startup, this is a very common problem. I think this is a good article for inexperienced tech startups, explaining the importance of choosing the right infrastructure or at least understand which to use at what stage. When the company couldn’t afford a senior engineer, they should at least seek for a very good tech advisor. We had similar issues and having an advisor really helps to put things in perspective, such as when do we need to switch, is it still worth it to build the alpha/beta using Firebase? Launching a product is super hard, so kudos to the team that actually took a prototype to launch and gained enough users that you needed to scale! ☺
